Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the accuracy of the test?
In a comparative study using RT-PCR and antigen test, the performance of V-Chek test was established with 808 Nasal swabs samples collected from symptomatic patients and asymptomatic patients. An overall positive percent agreement (sensitivity) for V-Chek test is 96.55% while a negative percent agreement (specificity) is 99.42%.
Is collecting Covid-19 sample using nasal swab painful?
No. You may only feel slightly itchy when you insert nasal swab 2-3 cm up your nostril. If you experience pain, this means that the nasal swab has gone too deep into your nasal cavity.
When should I use V-Chek Test?
When you have experienced or suspected to have some Covid-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of taste and smell or tiredness, please use V-Chek self-test kit on yourself to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Can I swab one nostril only?
Please use the nasal swab to collect specimen from both of your nostrils to ensure sufficient sample collected for accurate result.
Can I swab my throat instead of my nose for testing?
Please do not swab your throat for testing. V-Chek test is only validated with nasal swab specimen.
What should I do if one of the accessories of the test kit is missing from the test package?
Do not use the test. Please bring the kit and payment receipt to where you have purchased the kit for an exchange.
What should I do as I spilled some extraction buffer?
Please wipe off the spill with disinfectant wipes and repeat the test with a new test kit.
What does a negative test result mean?
A negative test result by COVID-19 self-test only indicates that proteins from the virus that causes COVID-19 were not found in your sample. It is possible for some individuals with COVID-19 to have negative result due to the amount of antigen in a sample decrease overtime. Using COVID-19 self-test after you have had symptoms for more than 7 days likely to give you a negative result compared to a molecular assay.
If you are tested negative by a COVID-19 self-test and continue to experience COVID-19-like symptoms such as fever, cough and/or shortness of breath, you should proceed to health screening facility immediately for further health assessment.
What does an invalid test result mean?
A colored line does not form in the control region. It indicates that the operation process is incorrect or the test cassette has been damaged. In this case, please read the instruction manual carefully again and retest with a new test cassette.

About the V-chek Test
V-Chek Test is an immunochromatography sandwich assay using double-antibody sandwich to legally detect the antigen of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in nasal swab samples.
During detection, the gold labeled anti-2019-nCoV monoclonal antibody in the labeling pad binds to the 2019-nCoV antigen in the sample to form a complex. Then the reaction complex moves forward along the nitrocellulose membrane under the action of chromatography. It is captured by the anti-2019-nCoV monoclonal antibody pre-coated in the Test area (T) on the nitrocellulose membrane. Finally a red color reaction line is formed in the Test area (T).
If the sample does not contain 2019-nCoV antigen, a red color reaction line cannot be formed in the Test area (T). Regardless of whether the sample to be tested contains 2019-nCoV antigen, a red reaction line will always form in the quality control area (C), if the test has been performed properly.
This product is meant for self-testing use.
Please note: this product is currently authorized for sale or distribution in Malaysia. Referring to MDA requirement, it is strictly forbidden for individuals to sell Covid-19 RTK (self-test).
